Radio over fiber links (1Mhz-40Ghz)

radio over fiber

Radio over fiber technology is an ideal decision for multichannel data applications. RoF links transmit radio signal over fiber thus allowing to use multiple protocols (eg. 3G, Wifi, cell, etc.) by a SINGLE antenna.

When you need to combine wireless access with your fiber optic data links – our RoF solutions will perfectly fit your application. In RoF systems, wireless signals are transported in optical form between a central station and a set of base stations before being radiated through the air. The advantage is that the equipment for WiFi, 3G and other protocols can be centralized in one place, with remote antennas attached via fiber optic serving all protocols.

It is not hard to understand that the equipment and maintenance cost of the network will be significantly reduces with RoF data links.

Optical Engineering department is able to work out performance specification, design and arrange installation and launch for two major types of Radio over Fiber links:

  • RF over Fiber (10Ghz – 40Ghz)
  • IF over Fiber (1Mhz – 10Ghz)
